Under: DEVO Team weekly news
Day 2 was a great day out on snow. We really put in a lot of miles on snow and got to meet two new team members, Haley and Greg. The others who were there were Kate, Lauren and Sean so we had a solid five of nine out for the day.
Talking about the miles we covered, we really did a lot of skiing! Thanks to the "trails" team for getting more terrain open.
Runs skied were Northwoods, Christmas, Expresso, Swingsville, Ramshorn, Midvail Express "trees", Avanti, Giant Steps (upper), Bear Tree, Cookshack, Columbine and Born Free.
We are still settling in to our skiing "framework" and everyone (me included) need to find our center points and work on keeping our upper body in the gravity (fall) line. I am really liking the solid ankle tipping, especially from Kate which demonstrates great edge control and carving skills. This is something we emphasized last season and across the board is looking good.
We choose to stick with last seasons name, "Dust on Crust" and nicknames are in the works. So far it's looking very food / candy oriented with "Kit Kat Kate", "Skiddles Sean", Hershey's Haley", "Lemonhead Lauren, "Gummi Bear Greg or just Gum".... As for me, something about Willy Wonka came up, let's see if that sticks.
I will be taking a Freestyle training today and hope to bring that lesson back to the team, everyone ready for a 360 mute grab?
Looking forward to having most of the team there this week and Haley will be missed. Holiday presents will be handed out at the end of the day but no opening until Christmas!
Think Snow!
